The 2026 Nissan Sentra is a complete redesign — the ninth generation of the nameplate, all-new inside and out. The headline feature is one you normally have to pay a lot more for: a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, standard on every single trim, including the $22,600 base S.
For context, the base Honda Civic LX ships with a 7-inch screen. The base Toyota Corolla LE and Hyundai Elantra SE get 8 inches. Only the Kia K4 matches the Sentra at 12.3. That’s a real, checkable advantage, and it’s the thing we’d point at first.
The 2026 Sentra also earned an IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ with no trim, headlight, or build-date restrictions — the award applies to the car, not to one expensive version of it. Glory Nissan stocks the Sentra in S, SV, and SR, starting at $22,600 plus $1,245 destination.
Four trims, one engine, one transmission, front-wheel drive throughout. All prices are MSRP and exclude the $1,245 destination charge.
The base car, and it is not a stripped one. The 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, three USB-C ports, and 10 airbags are all standard here, along with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot intervention, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure prevention, and intelligent cruise control. It also returns the best fuel economy in the lineup at 30 city / 38 highway / 33 combined.
Our most-stocked trim, and the value pick. For $770 over the S it adds the second 12.3-inch screen — a fully digital instrument cluster in place of the S’s 7-inch display. Same 33 combined MPG. The Convenience Package adds heated front seats, heated steering wheel, wireless charging, and 64-color ambient lighting.
The sport-appearance trim, on 18-inch alloy wheels. It’s also the least expensive way to get ProPILOT Assist, via the Premium Package — which also brings Bose 8-speaker audio, the HD Around View Monitor, rear automatic braking, and leatherette seating. Trade-off: those 18-inch wheels cost you fuel economy. The SR is rated 29 city / 36 highway / 32 combined, not the 33 the S and SV achieve.
The premium trim. ProPILOT Assist standard, quilted TailorFit seating, power moonroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, remote engine start, heated seats and steering wheel, and the HD Around View Monitor all included. Same 32 combined MPG as the SR. We don’t currently stock the SL — ask us about ordering one.
| Trim | MSRP | With destination | Combined MPG | Instrument cluster |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | $22,600 | $23,845 | 33 | 7-inch |
| SV | $23,370 | $24,615 | 33 | 12.3-inch digital |
| SR | $25,000 | $26,245 | 32 | 12.3-inch digital |
| SL | $27,990 | $29,235 | 32 | 12.3-inch digital |
2026 MSRP, excludes $1,245 destination and handling. All trims are front-wheel drive with the Xtronic CVT. All-wheel drive is not offered on the Sentra.
Two numbers get quoted constantly on this car, and both come with a qualifier that usually gets dropped. We’d rather you hear them from us.
“Up to 38 MPG highway” is the S and SV only. The SR and SL, which ride on larger wheels, are rated 29 city / 36 highway / 32 combined. If you’re buying an SR because you liked the 18-inch wheels and you’re expecting 38 on the freeway, you’ll see 36. That’s not a huge gap, but you should know it before you sign rather than after.
“Dual 12.3-inch displays” starts at the SV, not the S. The $22,600 S has the 12.3-inch touchscreen — that part is standard on every Sentra. But its instrument cluster is a 7-inch display. The second 12.3-inch screen, the digital cluster, arrives at the SV for $770 more. Honestly, that $770 is one of the better-value steps in the lineup.
| If you want… | You need | Starting at |
|---|---|---|
| 38 MPG highway | S or SV | $22,600 |
| Dual 12.3-inch screens | SV or above | $23,370 |
| ProPILOT Assist | SR + Premium Package, or SL | $25,000 |
Where it genuinely wins: the standard 12.3-inch touchscreen beats every direct rival except the Kia K4. At $23,845 delivered it undercuts a Honda Civic LX by roughly $2,000 while giving you a substantially bigger standard screen. Its 146 lb-ft of torque beats the Civic, Elantra and K4. Its 14.3 cubic-foot trunk beats the Corolla, Mazda3, Jetta and Elantra. And the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ comes without asterisks.
Where it doesn’t: fuel economy. At 33 combined the Sentra sits at the back of this segment — the Civic is 36, the Corolla and Elantra 35, the Jetta 34. And there is no hybrid Sentra. If you’re driving 30,000-plus miles a year, a Civic Hybrid or Corolla Hybrid at roughly 49–50 combined will cost meaningfully less to fuel, and we’d be doing you a disservice pretending otherwise. The Sentra’s case is delivered price, standard technology, and safety rating — not efficiency.

Standard on all four trims, including the base S:
Two things to be clear about. Rear Automatic Braking — distinct from the forward automatic braking above — is not available on the S or SV; it comes with the SR Premium Package and is standard on the SL. And no Sentra trim offers ventilated or cooled front seats. Heated seats are available, but seat cooling isn’t on the options sheet at any price. In this climate that’s worth saying plainly.
What the Sentra does offer for Las Vegas summers is remote engine start with Intelligent Climate Control — standard on the SL, available by package on the SV and SR — so you can get the cabin moving before you walk out to it.
Effectively everything. The 2026 Sentra is a full ninth-generation redesign with new exterior and interior styling, and a long list of Sentra firsts:
The 2.0-liter engine and CVT carry over from the previous generation. Base price rose from $21,590 to $22,600 — about $1,010 for a complete redesign.
We’re on West Sahara Avenue, a short drive from most of the valley. The Sentra is one of our deepest inventories, mostly SV and S — which happen to be the 33-mpg trims. If you’re deciding between an S and an SV, or wondering whether the SR’s wheels are worth the two mpg, come ask. We’ll give you the same answer we’ve given here.

The 2026 Nissan Sentra starts at $22,600 for the S, plus a $1,245 destination charge, for a total of $23,845. The SV is $23,370, the SR is $25,000, and the SL is $27,990. All four trims are front-wheel drive.
It depends on trim. The Sentra S and SV are EPA-rated at 30 city / 38 highway / 33 combined MPG. The SR and SL, which ride on larger wheels, are rated 29 city / 36 highway / 32 combined. There is only one engine and one transmission, so wheel size is the difference.
Every 2026 Sentra has the 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, including the base S. However, the second 12.3-inch display, the digital instrument cluster, starts at the SV. The S uses a 7-inch instrument display instead.
ProPILOT Assist is available on the SR as part of the Premium Package, and is standard on the SL. It is not offered on the S or SV at any price. It is the hands-on version of ProPILOT Assist, combining intelligent cruise control with steering assist, and it is not a hands-free driving system.
No. The Nissan Sentra is front-wheel drive only on every trim. Nissan does not offer all-wheel drive on the Sentra. Buyers who want all-wheel drive should look at the Nissan Kicks or Rogue.
No. Every 2026 Nissan Sentra uses the Xtronic CVT. Nissan has not offered a manual transmission on the Sentra since the 2019 model year.
No. Nissan does not offer a hybrid, plug-in hybrid, or e-POWER version of the Sentra in the United States. Buyers who want an electrified Nissan should look at the Nissan LEAF, the Rogue Plug-in Hybrid, or the Kicks.
No. The 2026 Nissan Sentra does not offer ventilated or cooled front seats on any trim. Heated front seats are available on the S and SR through packages, on the SV through the Convenience Package, and are standard on the SL. Remote engine start with Intelligent Climate Control is standard on the SL and available by package on the SV and SR.
No. The Nissan Sentra is not rated for towing, and Nissan does not publish a towing capacity for it. Buyers who need to tow should consider the Nissan Rogue, Pathfinder, or Frontier.
The Nissan Sentra seats five passengers, with a 60/40 split-folding rear seat and 14.3 cubic feet of trunk space on every trim.
Yes. The 2026 Sentra is an all-new ninth-generation redesign with new exterior and interior styling, a standard 12.3-inch touchscreen, an available 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and ProPILOT Assist offered on a Sentra for the first time. The 2.0-liter engine and CVT carry over from the previous generation.
The 2026 Nissan Sentra is an IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+, with no trim, headlight, or build-date restrictions on the award. Every trim includes 10 airbags, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot intervention, rear cross traffic alert, and lane departure prevention as standard equipment.
